Content Quality Scorecard

A quality scorecard is a rubric applied to each piece before publication, typically scoring four to eight dimensions (accuracy, clarity, audience relevance, brand alignment, SEO fundamentals, completeness) on a defined scale. Its purpose is to make quality assessment explicit and consistent so it is not a function of reviewer personality or available time. Teams that use one stop publishing mediocre content accidentally.

A pre-publish rubric that removes vibes from the quality decision.

Accuracy / Clarity / Relevance / Completeness / Brand fit

When to use this

  • When post-publication quality is inconsistent, some pieces are excellent, many are just acceptable, and no one can explain why.
  • When scaling content production with new writers or external contributors who are not yet calibrated.
  • When a content program is maturing and the question shifts from "are we publishing enough?" to "is what we publish good?"
